Hello Readers
Welcome to the first issue of The Minerva Minute. I was inspired to create this newsletter for a few reasons. One, I love to create things like this. Second, I know so many knowledgeable, articulate people who are willing to submit articles. Third, I'm always seeking out research, articles, and resources to help keep me up-to-date with on and offline marketing. So, why not share the knowledge? It's an experiment, and I want you to let me know what you think!

In case you're wondering about the banner ad at the top of this email, it's what allows me to use a great list management service for free. When I start featuring sponsors in the newsletter (hint, hint) that banner will go away.

Have you Googled yourself lately?
No, this isn't something you do in your underwear in front of the mirror. It's typing your own name into Google.com to see what prospective clients, employers, or first dates are finding out about you.

Search for your own name and let me know the weirdest thing people might think is true about you. Maybe I'll include it in a future issue. Here are the mistakes someone might make about me:

- Stole $20K from my brother but lost it in Vegas
- Cupertino city councilwoman
- Painter, dancer, Pilates teacher
- Died in 1998
- Romance novelist!
- Strong mezzo soprano/alto
- Star Trek groupie and prolific blogger that some people hate
- Found a Hidden Mickey at Disneyland (OK, that one is true!)

The good news is that the search engine optimization tricks are working and my own website comes up on the first page of a Google search. Phew!
